About

Darling Point Sailing Squadron

Darling Point Sailing Squadron is situated at the northern end of Manly Boat Harbour on Norfolk Point, Manly, Brisbane. We cater for off-the-beach dinghies and skiffs.

DPSS was established in the 1920's on the Wynnum-Manly foreshore and catered mainly for skiffs sailing from Darling Point. A clubhouse was built in the 1950's and moved to its current site on Norfolk Point, Manly Boat Harbour when that area of reclaimed land was opened for community clubs and organisations.

'Affordable, family-friendly sailing on the bay'

Today, DPSS still thrives on Norfolk Point with regular Sunday sailing during the Summer season (September to April) and monthly sailing during the Winter season (May to August). We offer Learn to sail courses for teens and children on Sunday mornings and a sailing pathway for those who wish to continue to afternoon racing for the competitive sailors.

'Dedicated volunteers helping others'

DPSS is a volunteer-run community club and we encourage our members to be involved with the running of the club. Our facilities at DPSS are used by other sailing organisations such as Sailability Bayside, who operate Mondays and Thursdays during school terms.
