Dolphins Juniors - getting ready to race in Sabots
Darling Point Sailing Squadron offers a 'Dolphins' program for kids who are getting ready to race in Sabots.
To be eligible to join the Dolphins program kids:
- should have completed Tackers 1 and Tackers 2 courses
- join as a member of DPSS, which includes an Australian Sailing number
- register each term.
The Dolphins program is the next step at DPSS after Tackers 1 and 2 courses. Dolphins is run by experienced members and instructors using club or your own Sabots. DPSS has a limited number of club Sabots available for use and shared around in the Dolphins' program. After a term in Dolphins, we encourage families to purchase their own Sabot to use in the program. If you have your own Sabot, please ensure your boat has a current insurance Certificate of Currency with a public liability of at least $5 million.
Dolphins sessions run during the sailing season from 8:30 until 11:30 each Sunday morning except in school holidays. Cost is $10 per child per Dolphins session payable by the term or each morning at the Sign-on desk or $20 per session if using a club Sabot. The Dolphins program does not run in school holidays.
If your child is interested in joining the Dolphins program, please email dpssdsc@gmail.com.
